Feature Tutorial: Post-Incident Reviews (Jeli)
Imports an incident's PagerDuty timeline and Slack conversation into Jeli's Narrative Builder to document takeaways and track action items.
An incident isn't really over when it's resolved — the harder question is what it revealed, and whether the team will be in a better position next time or just relieved this one is done.
Jeli Post-Incident Reviews turn incidents into learning opportunities. Jeli automatically imports an incident's PagerDuty timeline and Slack conversation into its Narrative Builder, so investigators can build a blame-aware story of what happened without reconstructing it from scratch. From there, teams can document takeaways, assign action items, and compare patterns across past reviews to spot recurring weak points before they cause another incident.
No matter how small an incident seems, a review can surface useful signal — and when reviews are compared or aggregated across an organization, they tend to reveal patterns no single incident would show on its own.
Jeli is part of PagerDuty's Incident Management plans (availability and review limits vary by plan). Note that Jeli's UI is scheduled to reach end-of-life on December 22, 2026, with post-incident review capabilities moving natively into the PagerDuty web app; the current Jeli-based experience is what's covered here.
