# Rename Incident Dedicated Slack Channel

Renames the dedicated Slack channel that was automatically created specifically for an active ongoing incident response.

## Description

Rename an incident dedicated Slack channel.

## Instructions

1. If you have not done so, follow the instructions to [Create an Incident Workflow](/ai-automation/automation/incident-workflows#create-an-incident-workflow).
2. When the instructions prompt you to [add actions](/ai-automation/automation/incident-workflows#add-actions), select **this action**.
3. Enter the following **Inputs** and click **Save**.
4. Continue following instructions to **Publish** the Workflow.
5. When the action runs, you will see the **Outputs** listed below.

| :----------------- | :-------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| Workspace          | Select a Slack Workspace from the list                                |
| Select the Channel | Select the Channel Name of the channel where the message is sent      |
| Name               | New name for the channel                                              |
| Channel ID         | In-browser ID of the channel to link, always starts with "C"          |
| Channel Privacy    | The privacy of the linked channel in Slack. Can be public or private. |
| Incident ID        | ID of the incident to post update to                                  |
| Account ID         | Account ID to use to post the status update                           |
| Assigned User ID   | User ID to make the status update on behalf of                        |

## Outputs

| Name           | Description                                                                         |
| :------------- | :---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| Result         | Value that shows if the action was successful or not. Either "Success" or "Failed." |
| Result Summary | Brief description of what the action did or if it failed.                           |
| Error          | Brief description that populates if the action failed.                              |
