# GitHub Cloud Connector Integration Guide

Connect GitHub Cloud to PagerDuty with the PagerDuty GitHub App to give Incident Workflows and the SRE Agent repository-based access.

The GitHub Cloud connector uses the PagerDuty GitHub App to connect your GitHub repositories to [Incident Workflows](/ai-automation/automation/incident-workflows) and [Paige, the SRE Agent](/ai-automation/advance/sre-agent). The GitHub App grants access by repository, so you choose exactly which repositories PagerDuty can reach.

> **OAuth Connections:** Existing GitHub connectors that use OAuth continue to work. All new GitHub Cloud connectors must use the PagerDuty GitHub App.

## Requirements

> **Required User Permissions:** You must have an Account Owner, Admin, or Global Manager role to set up the GitHub Cloud connector.

## Permissions the GitHub App Requests

| Permission | Access | Purpose |
| :--- | :--- | :--- |
| Contents | Read & write | Read file contents ([Get Repository Content](/workflow-actions/github/github-get-repository-content)) and open a revert pull request. Used together with the Pull requests permission. |
| Pull requests | Read & write | Open a revert pull request. Used together with the Contents permission. |
| Metadata | Read | Required by GitHub for all GitHub Apps. |

## Add the GitHub Cloud Connector

1. In the PagerDuty web app, navigate to **Integrations** → **Workflow Integrations**.
2. Select **GitHub Cloud** and click **Add Connector**.
3. Enter a name for the connection and select **Who can edit or select the connection**.
4. PagerDuty redirects you to GitHub to install the PagerDuty GitHub App.
5. In GitHub, select **All repositories** or **Only select repositories**.
6. Complete the installation in GitHub. GitHub redirects you back to PagerDuty, and the connection appears on the **Workflow Integrations** page.

> **Limit Repository Access:** Select **Only select repositories** and choose only the repositories your workflows need.

> **GitHub Enterprise Server:** The GitHub Cloud connector supports GitHub Cloud only. GitHub Enterprise Server does not support the PagerDuty GitHub App.

## Manage the GitHub Cloud Connector

Each account supports one GitHub Cloud connector. After you add a connector, the **Add Connector** button is disabled.

### Update Repository Permissions

To change the permissions or repositories the GitHub App can access, use one of the following options:

- **In PagerDuty:** Recreate the connector. You do not need to delete the existing connector first — PagerDuty also recreates the GitHub App installation for you.
- **In GitHub:** Update the PagerDuty GitHub App installation.
  - **Personal account:** Navigate to your GitHub **Settings** → **Applications** → **Installed GitHub Apps**.
  - **Organization:** Navigate to the organization's **Settings** → **GitHub Apps**.
