# Delete an extension

`DELETE https://api.pagerduty.com/extensions/{id}`

Delete an existing extension.

Once the extension is deleted, it will not be accessible from the web UI and new incidents won't be able to be created for this extension.

Extensions are representations of Extension Schema objects that are attached to Services.

Scoped OAuth requires: `extensions.write`

## Authorization

- **api_key** (apiKey) — `Authorization` header. The API Key with format `Token token=<API_KEY>`

## Response 204

The extension was deleted successfully.

## Response 401

Caller did not supply credentials or did not provide the correct credentials.
If you are using an API key, it may be invalid or your Authorization header may be malformed.
