# Jira Cloud Integration

This API enables the programatic management of the configuration rules that drive the PagerDuty's integration with Jira Cloud.

Before using the API you must setup the integration and connect at least one Jira Cloud account. Additional integration documentation can be found here: https://support.pagerduty.com/main/docs/jira-cloud.

### Account Mapping

An **Account Mapping** establishes a connection between a PagerDuty account and a Jira Cloud instance, enabling integration and synchronization between the two platforms.

One PagerDuty account may be connected to one or more Jira Cloud instances.

### Rule

A **Rule** (aka Configuration) defines the parameters for bidirectional synchronization between Jira issues and PagerDuty incidents. A Rule is always tied to an Account Mapping.
